Grants' mileage (1.6 liters - 106 hp) is approaching 15 thousand kilometers (9320 miles), which means that its first maintenance will soon need to be done.
The question of who will carry out this maintenance (I or the officials) disappeared back in the spring of this year, after the guarantee for the free replacement of failed units was nullified. The warranty "flew" due to my failure to comply with the terms of maintenance.
The decision to pass or not undergo maintenance, I took throughout the year from the date of purchase of the car. I weighed how much three maintenances would cost me for the entire warranty period, what they would give me (what types of work would be done), whether my car would run the prescribed distance, or each maintenance would have to be done on time (after a year of operation). On the LADA website, in the maintenance calculator, I studied the list of routine maintenance, not only these three, but for all six.
As a result, he noted for himself that apart from changing the oil, filters and spark plugs, nothing else would be done in the service. Only at the sixth maintenance, and this is 90 thousand kilometers (55,923 miles), the alternator belt is replaced, the most time-consuming procedure. In three years, I still won’t wind 90 thousand kilometers.
Yes, and compliance with the warranty does not give confidence that you will not be denied the replacement of failed units. There are many such cases. Collect various pieces of paper and evidence that you are right, there is no desire. It is better to use the money saved, without hassle, to buy a new unit, or to repair it in any other workshop of my choice.
The car is operated around the city, and I already spent the first oil change with an oil filter at 7.5 thousand. The oil at this run was almost black.
Up to 7.5 thousand topped up the oil several times. On the LADA website, I learned from technical support that Rosneft 5W-30 semi-synthetic oil was filled from the factory. I bought a liter bottle of "Rosneft MAGNUM MAXTEC 5W-40" semi-synthetics for topping up. After these few toppings, about 200 ml of oil remained in the bottle.
During the replacement at 7.5 thousand, I already filled in the Rosneft MAGNUM ULTRATEC 5W-40 synthetic oil, and from that moment until today, I added it only once. That is, synthetic oil burns much less than semi-synthetic.
So, now for the first maintenance. I will show in the photos what kind of consumables I bought.
Synthetic motor oil "Rosneft MAGNUM ULTRATEC" 5W-40.
Oil filter "MAN", art. W914/2.
Air filter element "LADA Standart", art. 21120-1109080-82.
Cabin filter "LADA Standart", art. 11180-8122010-82.
Brake fluid (for topping up) "Lukoil", DOT4 class 6, art. 3097259, designed for braking systems equipped with anti-lock braking system (ABS), traction control system (TCS), etc.
And lastly, coolant (for topping up) "SINTEC", ANTIFREEZE MULTIFREEZE, art. 800534. The choice was due to the possibility of mixing with all types of coolants. The type of liquid filled in at the factory, I never found out. Only the brand name "SINTEC" is written on the expansion tank.
There is a desire to change the oil in the manual transmission, it works noisily. I even bought oil for this “Rosneft KINETIC MT”, 75W-90, GL-4, for mechanical transmissions, but this year I probably won’t change it, it’s more fuss with it than with a motor one.
A funnel to fill this oil through the reversing sensor hole.
Complete set for the first maintenance.
